Medical

Do you get muscle spasms?
I get muscle spasms everyday. I don’t remember when they began, very early on though.

What level is your injury?
My injury level is T11, it’s an incomplete injury (spinal cord is bruised) and I’m ASIA B (SCI classification).

How did you get injured?
I was skiing. You can read more about my story here.

What medical supplies do you need/use?
The only medical supplies I need (and use daily) are: catheters, medical gloves, medical lubricant.

What can you control/feel?
I can feel most of my legs and control from around the hip level and up.

What kind of wheelchair do you use?
I use a carbon fiber, manual wheelchair. I’ve been using my seat belt more and more as I continue to go on more adventures.


Personal

How old are you?
Right now, I’m 20. My birthday is in July and I was born in 1999.

What’s the story behind your amazing name?
Cosmo Socrates Trikes. Yeah, I like it just as much as you (probably more). I’m 25% Greek, my middle name is from my papou (grandfather), and Cosmo is Kosmos, but more American. It was that or Agamemnon.

Do you have a girlfriend?
No, I’m single right now.
I did have a girlfriend in the early months after my injury.

Why did you grow out your beard and hair?
I keep believing that eventually it’ll look good and be worth it. So far, I haven’t been disappointed!

Weirdest thing about you?
Contrary to popular belief, there are a lot of things. The most prominent is that I don’t eat veggies. I’ve always been a picky eater.

Is there a space between “wheelchair” and “DNA”?
This is a question I’ve long asked myself. There is no space. WheelchairDNA is one word. One sexy word. (sometimes I’ll split it so it looks better)

Is this your full time job?
No, I’m in college right now and this is my side project.
